What's the difference between your dreams and God's dreams for you?

When I was a kid there were various dreams that I would receive during the night. These would be warnings, nightmares, fun moments, and confusion. Most times I've received nightmares and never understood why I couldn't just get a good nights rest. If you've had nightmares then you can understand how that might rattle you and make you want to sleep with the light on. Now that I have a deeper understanding of spiritual warfare through Christ I've learned that as our bodies are asleep our souls and spirits are always awake. I promise this is not a spooky thing but just truth in learning more about my purpose.

Being 31 I'm able to receive good dreams and nightmares in a manner of discernment. Two weeks ago I had a dream that God was getting ready to bless me with overwhelming funds. Even with this amazing feeling I always ask God after every dream if this was from him or my own thoughts. I might think back on a movie/tv show I watched, some food I ate, or how I've been feeling lately. Then the father tells me that it was directly him. Doing this action helps me take all things back to the source and leaning on him for my concerns. Though after receiving the interpretation from him there are moments that I get doubtful. Do you feel like that?

What do you do when the interpretation isn't what you wanted or thought?

During these times I pray that my spirit aligns with Gods thoughts of me. Knowing that I'm human and so emotions of doubt might try to fall upon me. However, I need to stand firm on truth, wisdom, and love. Daniel 2: 21-22 states, "He changes times and seasons; he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what is in the darkness; and the light dwells within him. Within this scripture you see the magnitude and greatness of God and how he is all knowing. He will not lead you astray but instead bring you up in his ways. He wants what's good for you not evil. His wisdom will be made more evident for you as well if you're walking more in him and not in the world.

What if I receive a prophetic word to give to someone?

Ask God to reveal the timing during these conversations with him. The word is just as important as the timing. Just as he has patience with us he wants us to have patience with people as well. He knows that as humans we will or will not receive something that someone states. Also, a way for you to discern if this came from

God or you is by checking your spirit. If your spirit opposes God in anger, jealousy, or anything that is unkind then that is not in him. However, if it's of love, kindness, truth, and wisdom (Fruits of the Spirit Galatians 5:22) then speak what is given. Don't be uncomfortable with sharing his truth because it will bring more of God's understanding upon that person's spirit.

God loves you and wants you to be the best version of yourself. Through dreams, discernment, and life!
