Confidence Where Art Thou
Can my ego build who I am or is it the new me that's defining my character?
Let's keep it real. When we are walking into new chapters of our lives there can be moments where we forget to pack all of our clothes in a bigger suitcase. Not relying on the old one that kept us secure, keeping old memories, and the dirt or scuffs that embody its physical form. (Speaking in metaphors)
What would it look like if we accepted a new confidence from the spirit?
Living in Los Angeles within the year of 2021 I've learned two things. First, that everyone strived to be different which is nothing wrong with that. However, is it from a space of feeling rejected? Second, I've learned that if you didn't want to label yourself any religion you would just naturally call yourself spiritual. I've said this for myself as a creator and acknowledged that I thought Christianity was a form of colonialism Europeans put on Africans. However, doing research I've learned that Christianity was around during AD
era and that Christ has come to not establish a religion but instead a relationship with us. So, now having his spirit more activated in my life I've personally asked him how to be confident within him.
Building spiritual confidence does not mean that you walk around prideful from your looks, status, or who you are. Your confidence comes from the love of God that lives in you and it's up to you to ask him how to gain that. Just know that you will sometimes want to lean on your old suitcase aka old confidence. Though remember you have to give more space to your future so you can grow in spaces you feel uncomfortable in. He will guide you and show you the difference between the worlds confidence and confidence through him.
Philippians 2:1-2
So, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
